He is married and has son Leopold and daughter Lucija. He completed his primary
school as well as his grammar school in Samobor.
Being a top student he was exempt from his final paper. Having mathematics as
the main subject he gained the vocation of mathematic technician. In 1993 he enrolled at
the Faculty of Geodesy University of Zagreb. During his studying he participated in several geodetic
projects and GPS surveying
campaigns, and was a student tutor in the course of Real estate cadastre. In
1998 he attended student's practice organized by Faculty of Geodesy. On the
basis of this practice he made his diploma thesis Multimedia
presentation of geodetic works
mentored by Prof. Dr. Miodrag Roić. He
graduated on 28 of April 2000 with excellent assessment. He graduated on April 28, 2000. On July
30 2001 he finished military service. During his military service he went to
school for reserve officers of Republic of Croatia and achieved the rank of
lieutenant. He defended his master thesis The establishment of geodetic basis for special purposes
on March 3, 2006. The mentor was Prof. Dr. Gorana Novaković, and
co-mentor was prof. Dr. Zdravko
Kapović. He defended his PhD thesis Geospatial data bases of objects in the highway
management system of the Republic of Croatia at the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb on June 29, 2010.
Dissertation mentor was Prof. Dr.
Zdravko Kapović. Before serving in
Croatian military forces he was working in the field of engineering geodesy
in geodetic biro "ING Z" d.o.o. in Samobor. He started working at the Faculty
of Geodesy on October 1, 2001 as an assistant in the Institute of engineering
geodesy and spatial information management. Based on the Law on Science and
Higher Education (Official Gazette 123/03), he was elected on December 1 2003
as an assistant at the Institute for engineering geodesy and spatial
information management. After the thesis defence, on July 1 2010, he was
elected to the associate title senior assistant at the Institute for applied
geodesy, Chair for engineering geodesy.
He was elected on October 1 2013 to the educational-scientific title
of assistant professor in the Department of applied geodesy, Chair for
engineering geodesy. Since he was appointed as
an assistant he has been organizing and performing exercises in following
courses: Engineering geodesy I, Engineering geodesy II, Engineering geodesy
III, Movements and deformations, Geodesy in environmental protection, Engineering geodetic basis, Engineering
geodesy, Engineering geodesy in construction. In year 2005/06, 2006/07 he was
lecturing the course of Engineering geodesy II, and in the academic year
2010/11 and 2012/13 he held lectures in the course of Engineering Geodesy
under the supervision of Prof.
Dr. Zdravko Kapović. He was one of the leaders of professional
students practice JARUN 2001 in Zagreb, Stari Grad
- Faros 2002 and Stari Grad - Faros 2003 on the
island of Hvar. From January 2013 he is the President of the Commission for
professional lifelong learning of Faculty of geodesy. Until now he has
published 26 scientific and
technical papers as an author or co-author in foreign and domestic
journals and conference proceedings,
five news items and made 41 professional studies. He was the head while making 25 diploma
theses. He took part in two scientific projects. His work on expert projects, such as static load tests
(approximately 250) of bridges, viaducts, overpasses and underpasses, and
different civil constructions is very successful. He also works on making special geodetic plans for planning
purposes, making subdivision surveys for the purpose of building settlements
and the establishment of geodetic basis for construction of bridges
and tunnels. He is a member of the
Zagreb geodesy association and the Croatian geodetic society. He is also a
member of the Croatian chamber of
chartered engineer's surveyors. He fluently uses English in speech and
writing. |
